Parking, Directions to the University and the Regents’ Drive Parking Garage, and finding the Department and the Lecture Hall
FROM BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL (BWI) AIRPORT:
- Upon exiting the airport, take I-195 West
- Follow it for about 3.5 miles and then get onto I-95 South.
- Follow I-95 South for about 19 miles, get into the second lane from the right and get off at Exit 27 towards College Park.
- After a long exit ramp, follow Exit 25B and go south on Rt. 1
- Proceed on Rt. 1 for two miles to the University’s Campus Drive entrance on your right

FROM DULLES INTERNATIONAL (IAD) AIRPORT:
- Upon exiting the airport, follow the Dulles Airport Access Road East for about 13 miles.
- Exit onto I-495 North. Within three miles, you’ll enter the state of Maryland.
- Follow I-495 North and get off at Exit 25B.
- Go south on U.S. Rt. 1.
- Proceed on Rt. 1 for two miles to the University’s Campus Drive entrance on your right.

FROM RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL (DCA) AIRPORT:
- Exit the airport to the north (towards Washington, D.C.)
- Continue onto the George Washington Memorial Pkwy (GW Pkwy) North about 1 mile.
- Bear right onto I-395 N (US-1 N, Arland D Williams Jr Memorial Br).
- Go 1.5 miles and continue onto I-295 S (Southeast Frwy)
- Go 1 mile and take the Pennsylvania Avenue exit onto Pennsylvania Ave Se - Cross the John Philip Sousa Br
- Immediately turn LEFT on Fairlawn Ave Se (signs for DC-295 N)- go < 0.1 mi
- Take ramp onto DC-295 N, Continue on MD-295 N - go about 7 miles
- Take the New Carrollton/MD-410/Hyattsville exit - go 0.2 mi
- Turn LEFT on Riverdale Rd (MD-410/East-West Hwy)- go 0.8 mi
- Turn RIGHT on Kenilworth Ave(MD-201 N) - go 0.9 mi
- Turn LEFT on Paint Branch Pky - go 1.6 mi. Cross US 1 to enter Campus Drive.

BY AUTOMOBILE, from anywhere:
Follow your map to the Washington Beltway -- 495. Get off at Exit 25B. Go south on U.S. Rt. 1 for two miles to the University’s Campus Drive entrance on your right.

PARKING, & DIRECTIONS TO THE PARKING GARAGE FROM CAMPUS DRIVE:
From Route 1 (Baltimore Blvd.) enter the University of Maryland via the first, main entrance, Campus Drive, getting immediately in the left lane. When you come to the circle with the University of Maryland (M) logo and a stop sign, veer right and get into the right lane of the circle, following the road to your right. You will go over a few speed bumps and to your left you will see the Geology Building, then the Plant Science Building, then the Parking Garage. Turn left on the street between Plant Sciences and the Parking Garage, then turn right into the Parking Garage. Park anywhere that is designated as lot “B” (painted in color on the garage walls). On the third floor of the Parking Garage is a walkway that circles you to the entrance of the Plant Sciences Building, on the left, where the department is housed. The BioSciences Lecture Hall less than 100 yards to the right (other side of the Biology-Psychology Building). Signs will be posted directing you to the event.
The Parking Garage is permit-only until 4:00 p.m., but after that you can park there for free. So, if you arrive just on time you’ll be fine. If you want to come earlier (e.g. to visit the department), you will need to get a temporary permit from us immediately after parking and place it in your car. Permits will be available in the Entomology office (Room 4112, 4th floor, Plant Sciences).
