Dr. Michael Raupp, Professor in the Department of Entomology, was awarded the National Entomological Society of America (ESA) Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension.

Department of Entomology Ph.D. students Akito Kawahara, Monica Pava-Ripoll, and Robert Smith are the 2009 recipients of the Gahan Fellowship. Gahan fellows are distinguished by excellence in research creativity and productivity. Graduate students Robert Smith, Entomology, and Gwen Shlichta, Behavior, Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics, also received Department of Entomology Teaching Achievement Awards.

Professor Amy Brown recently participated in a week-long Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) Train-the-Trainer program designed to minimize the risk of contaminated food being exported from Guatemala to the United States.
